Road lined with bare trees

It’s time for another Weekend Road trip around the blogosphere. So hop in, crank up the tunes and let’s get going!

I don’t know about you, but I can always use some help getting more focused. Jeff Goins’ Key to Distraction-Free Writing has some great tips for the distraction-prone among us.

Ollin Morales gives us a HUGE mash-up of his blogs, including tips on writing and making the most of your blog.

Emmie Mears has been doing an important series this past week on stopping the violence against women and girls.  This guest post by Kana Tyler on A Learning-Journey toward Valuing My Gender was both moving and empowering to read.

Over at Writers In The Storm we get a chance to learn a bit more our Meyers-Briggs personality type. I’ve taken this many times (what self-respecting psych major hasn’t?) and one thing I’m always intrigued by is the nuances of our types. I have stayed a pretty clear I-N-F (introvert, intuitive, feeling) , but I’ve gradually migrated from a solid P (perceiving) to more in the middle between that and the J (judging) side of things. Hmmm…. I’m left wondering how my life has changed since I first took the test and how that’s influenced my Meyers-Briggs letters.

YA author Gayle Forman wrote a beautiful post about the Perfect Song and how she struggles and muddles through in her writing process until the words she’s written down and the song and vision of her story in her head match.

Gayle’s post got me thinking about playlists and how music deeply affects us all.  And since I hope you will be going on many more Weekend Roadtrips with me, I would love it if you would help me create a playlist or a musical road map, if you will, for our journey.  But I’ll need your input.  Jot down in the comments some your favorite road trip tunes and I will include a playlist in next week’s post.

Thanks for joining me!
